Job Description

As a Cruise Employee, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth operation and exceptional guest experience within our company. Your responsibilities will encompass various aspects of guest management, safety procedures, and liaison duties between Dolphin Academy staff, taxi drivers, and the mega pier authorities.

Key Responsibilities

Preparing Waivers for Cruise Guests:
Ensure all necessary waivers and documentation are prepared accurately and efficiently for cruise guests participating in Dolphin Academy activities. Maintain records of waivers and ensure compliance with legal and safety requirements.
Cruise Guest Check-In:
Facilitate the seamless check-in process for cruise guests, ensuring they receive the necessary information and assistance. Address guest inquiries and concerns during the check-in process with professionalism and courtesy.
Dispatch of Cruise Guests:
Coordinate the timely and organized dispatch of cruise guests to Dolphin Academy activities, including dolphin encounters and other scheduled programs. Manage queues and ensure guests are briefed on safety protocols and activity details.
Supervising Cruise Guests at Dolphin Academy/Sea Aquarium:
Oversee the activities and interactions of cruise guests participating in Dolphin Academy and Sea Aquarium programs, ensuring adherence to safety guidelines and guest satisfaction. Provide guidance and assistance to guests as needed throughout their Curaçao Sea Aquarium Park experience.
Contact Person Between Dolphin Academy/Sea Aquarium and Taxi Drivers:
Serve as the primary point of contact between Dolphin Academy/Sea Aquarium staff and taxi drivers, facilitating the transportation of guests to and from the cruise terminal. Coordinate schedules, relay pertinent information, and address any issues or concerns that may arise during transportation operations.
Contact Person on Mega Pier:
Act as the liaison between Dolphin Academy operations and mega pier authorities, maintaining open communication channels and ensuring compliance with port regulations and procedures. Facilitate the efficient flow of guests and staff between the cruise ship and the mega pier, addressing logistical challenges and optimizing operational efficiency.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Previous experience in hospitality, guest services, or cruise line operations preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
  • Good knowledge of languages such as, Dutch, English, Papiamentu, and Spanish is a pre!
  • Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail, particularly in managing paperwork and logistical arrangements.
  • Flexibility to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures, with a commitment to ensuring the well-being of guests and staff.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications and basic office tools for documentation and communication purposes.

Naast het leidinggeven aan de dagelijkse werkzaamheden is ook de communicatie naar de verschillende stakeholders een belangrijke taak.    Functie-eisen: 
  • MBO+/HBO werk- en denkniveau

Key Description:

As a cashier, you welcome guests, enter the program and products of the gift shop, photoshop, dolphin kiss, and complete transaction with guests at the cash register. Additionally, you are responsible for closing the cash register, counting receipts, and reconciling any cash discrepancies. Furthermore, you perform all additional tasks related to being a cashier. You should have a flexible attitude, think along with the customer, and engage in friendly conversation. Your main task is to also sell as many gift shop products as possible, while also ensuring that the gift shop has a presentable appearance. Additionally, you proactively contribute to the assortment of the gift shop and conducts inventory at the end of the month.  

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Organize and maintain the workspace;
  • Perform cashier transactions;
  • Take inventory;
  • Deal with difficult customers;
  • Handle money and other forms of payment, and verifying their validity.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • 1 to 2 years of experience as a cashier;
  • High proficiency in Dutch, English, Spanish and Papiamentu. Portuguese is prefered.

As the hostess of Dolphin Academy, your friendly demeanor is the first thing our guests sees, and we want you to make it a great lasting impression! As the hostess you need to provide a great customer service for the Front Office, Photoshop and Dolphin Programs.

Job description

The Front Office department acts as the business card of the organization. As a Front Office Agent, you are responsible for all reservations. Also receiving, checking in and providing general tourist information to the guests. As well as operating the telephone exchange and perform distinct administrative work.

Key responsibilities

  • Make and manage reservations quickly and accurately
  • Knows how the reservation system works and how to handle it professionally and responsibly
  • Provides correct information and service to guests
  • Responsible to handle incoming calls and e-mails.
  • Knowledge of all dolphin programs that are sold at Dolphin Academy and Ocean Encounters
  • Capable of guiding the guests professionally and in a customer-friendly way
  • Ensure that all guests adhere to the mandatory regulations that apply at Dolphin Academy, such as wearing a mask inside (Front Office, Photoshop, Giftshop)

Skills and Qualifications

  • At least MBO level 3 or 4 and experience working in the hospitality or tourism
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a front office position
  • Solution-oriented and works well independently and in a team
  • Communicates correctly with colleagues and guests
  • Is open-minded and thinks 'out of the box'
  • Guest-oriented; customer-friendly, open and honest
  • Is representative, correct and stress resistant
