O bem-estar f\u00edsico e mental dos golfinhos sob nossos cuidados \u00e9 nossa prioridade n\u00famero um. O cuidado e treinamento dos golfinhos para todas as nossas atividades s\u00e3o baseados na seguinte ideia: sempre que os golfinhos respondem corretamente, s\u00e3o recompensados. Se cometem um erro, simplesmente tentamos novamente ou passamos para outro pedido.<\/span><\/p>\n

Na pr\u00e1tica, recompensamos o correto e ignoramos o incorreto. Este \u00e9 um m\u00e9todo de condicionamento operante chamado “refor\u00e7o positivo”. Comportamentos espec\u00edficos s\u00e3o gradualmente ensinados e moldados ao fornecer aos golfinhos uma variedade de “refor\u00e7os” para respostas desejadas. As necessidades nutricionais e cal\u00f3ricas dos golfinhos s\u00e3o tais que alimentamos cada um com at\u00e9 30 lbs. de peixe ao longo do dia. Todos os golfinhos recebem sua dieta di\u00e1ria necess\u00e1ria, independentemente do “desempenho”, portanto, a comida n\u00e3o \u00e9 utilizada como um meio de motiva\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/span><\/p>\n

Um exemplo perfeito do papel m\u00ednimo da comida no treinamento \u00e9 o fato de que todos os quatorze golfinhos nascidos sob nossos cuidados foram totalmente treinados em seu primeiro ano, antes de comerem um \u00fanico peixe, enquanto ainda dependiam exclusivamente do leite materno para se nutrir. Apenas os elogios e a aten\u00e7\u00e3o de seus treinadores oferecem muita motiva\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
